Name something you love, and why.

Japan! It's my favorite place in the world. I hope to visit for a 5th time next year. I am incredibly enamored by the people, food, art and landscapes that it has to offer. 

Which professional success meant the most to you?

Doing what I love every day and never considering it 'work' is success to me. I am beyond grateful to be able to have my dream job and be my own boss. Not a day goes by that I don't think about it! 

What could you eat for a whole week?

Cheese quesadillas - Haha, embarrassing maybe, but it never gets old.

Where do you go when you want to be with you?

Hot yoga! I can't think of anything else when the room is hot, your only purpose is to move your body. That is my form of meditation. 

Tell us something about your education

I went to the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts, but I relied mostly on Youtube videos and just shooting every chance I had to start my career.

Why photography?

Photography is my art medium, how I tell stories and express myself. Photoshop is my paintbrush.

What was the weirdest encounter, the craziest adventure or the most beautiful moment you experienced on a shoot?

Tons of these! One of my favorite moments was flying to Utah to capture the pink waters at the Great Salt Lake. Once there, I realized that the pink tinted waters were hard to capture in camera, it was more of an 'in person' experience. I decided to wait 5 hours for the sun to set, longing for the waters to create some sort of magical landscape that I could work with. When the sun set, for about 15 minutes, the water was a mirror to the sky, the sunset pastel lilac and rose. I couldn't believe what I was capturing in my camera, and for once the world in my head matched what I was capturing in real life. I didn't need to alter those images in photoshop whatsoever and they are some of my favorite images I have ever captured.

What is more important to you: Form or content?

I would say form, but not for technical reasons. I have definitely created for the sake of having content in the past, and it has drained me, to chase validation through social media. Now I create for myself, when I am ready. I take my time, and the result is always more precious.

What part of the human face is your favorite?

I think human expression, all of the parts of the face that it takes to create a mood. One of my favorite moods to capture is calmess, peace, especially in places that you wouldn't expect to find it. Standing on top of a sharp rock, dress flowing in the harsh wind, but the model finds calmness and clarity. I love to capture moments like these.

Where does your inspiration live?

My inspiration lives mostly in worlds that I can put my ideas into. I am constantly looking for new locations to shoot in, whether that's driving on my way to do errands, or scouring google maps satellites to find landscapes less traveled. I am always searching for a dream-like world for my next shoot.

What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If I wasn't afraid of being in deep, deep water, I would love to scuba dive super far down or maybe go in a submarine, which is my ultimate fear, haha!
